The
following mission statement and chapter goals were outlined by the Board
during a Planning Meeting on November 9, 2001. These goals are provided
in support of the chapter's objectives as defined in the TPMA Chapter
Bylaws, Article II.
MISSION
STATEMENT
TPMA's mission is to create and cultivate an environment that enhances
and supports public sector HR professional development and standards
in Tennessee.
CHAPTER
GOALS
TPMA's goals are separated into three categories - professional development
and training; networking opportunities; and development of a marketing,
communications and recruitment plan.

I:
Provide professional development and training.
Objectives:
Professional Development
- Offer
IPMA competency model across the state

Promote IPMA certification

Training
- Conduct
needs assessment
- Offer
appropriate multi-level training on HR issues
- Review
regional meeting schedule and content
- Conduct
pre-conference sessions

II:
Provide networking opportunities for members
Objectives:
- Develop
a newsletter
- Develop
a web page for TPMA
- List
member addresses on website
- Use
e-mail to communicate with members

a list-serve for membership
- Encourage
attendance at meetings and training

relationship with legislative body and other associates

Develop a marketing, communication and recruiting plan.
